Abstract
To explore effective paths for the training of foreign language teaching skills in local universities, this study takes the School of Foreign Languages at Zhaoqing University as a case study. Employing case study and text analysis methods within qualitative research, it systematically reviews the practical measures taken in teacher skill training, including four core links: competition-driven initiatives, internship reinforcement, characteristic practices, and curriculum support. Based on textual data such as the school's official news reports, talent training schemes, and related academic results, the study deeply analyzes the operating mechanisms and implementation effectiveness of each training link. The results indicate that the training system constructed by the school, characterized by "promoting practice through competitions, promoting teaching through practice, and empowerment through practice", has effectively enhanced the teaching practice abilities and comprehensive literacy of student teachers, though it still faces potential challenges such as insufficient integration of practical resources. This study provides practical references for the reform of foreign language teacher education in local application-oriented universities and possesses reference value for educational researchers and school administrators.
