Abstract
This paper presents a case study focused on asset management and financial control in the IT hardware and technology services industry. The study examines the integration of financial data with asset tracking to improve operational efficiency, data accuracy and financial control. It highlights challenges related to maintaining accurate asset records, standardizing information across accounting and asset-tracking systems, and reconciling physical assets with accounting records. The study is based on practical exposure to accounting systems such as Tally and BUSY and the organization of information towards an asset-tracking environment. The findings emphasize the importance of standardized asset identification, data mapping, regular verification and reconciliation for improving asset visibility, financial information reliability and operational control.
