Abstract

This study looked at how plyometric training affects physical fitness factors and skill accuracy in women's handball players from colleges that are part of Andhra University. Handball is a sport that requires a lot of effort. It requires speed, quickness, strong power, muscle strength, good coordination, and the ability to perform skills accurately. Plyometric training includes strong muscle movements. It is often used to improve movement, how muscles and nerves work together, and performance in sports. The goal of this study was to see how a planned plyometric training program affects physical fitness factors and skill accuracy in women handball players.
For this study, 60 women handball players from Andhra University colleges were chosen as the people being studied. These players were put into a group and a control group using the right kind of experiment setup. The experimental group did a planned plyometric training program along with their handball practice. The control group kept doing their training without the special plyometric program. Before. After the program, tests were done to measure the physical fitness factors and how well the players could do handball skills. Average scores and standard deviations were calculated to describe how the players did. Analysis of Covariance was used to find out if there was a difference between the experimental group and the control group after taking into account the scores from the first test. The level of significance was set at 0.05.
The results showed that the plyometric training program helped the experimental group get better at physical fitness factors and handball skill accuracy compared to the control group. These improvements could be because of power, better muscle and nerve coordination, faster force production, and better movement efficiency from doing the planned plyometric exercises. The study says that an organized plyometric training program can be used in the training plans of women handball players to improve their fitness and skill accuracy.
