Abstract
Poetic devices play a significant role in shaping students' cognitive, linguistic, and creative abilities. The use of literary techniques such as metaphor, simile, alliteration, personification, rhyme, and imagery enhances students' language proficiency by expanding their vocabulary, improving phonemic awareness, and fostering analytical thinking. Additionally, poetic devices stimulate creativity, allowing students to express their thoughts and emotions in unique and imaginative ways. Engaging with poetry also contributes to emotional and psychological well-being by providing a therapeutic outlet for self-expression and fostering empathy. Furthermore, the study of poetic elements enhances critical thinking and interpretation skills, benefiting students across multiple academic disciplines. Integrating poetry into educational curricula creates an interactive and enriched learning environment, promoting intellectual curiosity and a lifelong appreciation for literature. Research indicates that students who engage with poetry exhibit improved memory retention, problem-solving abilities, and abstract reasoning skills. The impact of poetic devices extends beyond literary appreciation, fostering well-rounded individuals with strong communication and analytical abilities. This paper explores the multifaceted benefits of poetic devices among students, emphasizing their importance in academic and personal development.
