Abstract

Maintaining the right temperature and humidity inside polyhouses is essential for crop growth and disease prevention. Traditional manual checks using standard thermometers are slow and cannot provide instant alerts or automatic records. This project presents a low-cost, smart polyhouse monitoring and data logging system built with a NodeMCU (ESP8266), an expansion shield, and a DHT22 sensor. The setup measures canopy temperature and humidity, then sends the data over Wi-Fi to Google Firebase Realtime Database. A standalone web dashboard uses WebSockets to show live readings on animated dial gauges and historical line charts without needing to refresh the page. Field testing shows fast sub-second data updates and reliable operation, making it an easy-to-use precision farming solution for growers.
