Abstract
Parliaments play a pivotal role in the protection and promotion of human rights within a constitutional democracy. As legislative bodies, they not only enact laws consistent with international human rights norms but also provide crucial oversight of executive actions, allocate resources, and offer platforms for public engagement. This article explores the multifaceted role of parliaments in safeguarding human rights, analyzing their legislative, oversight, representative, and budgetary functions. Drawing from international frameworks, national practices, and jurisprudence, the article underscores the necessity of an empowered, accountable,
and inclusive parliament in the realization of human rights for all.
